'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane reduces on Premier League comeback

Kane achieves his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has revealed that his interest in returning to the Premier League has diminished and he is prepared to negotiate a new deal with Bayern Munich.

The accomplished striker is presently halfway through the four-year contract he signed when transferring to from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the offseason of 2023.

The veteran forward has scored an outstanding 103 goals in 106 matches for the German club, helping them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga title - which represented the first major honor of his illustrious career.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has previously mentioned that he would like to see Kane come back to England, where he needs 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's historic Premier League scoring milestone of 260.

However, the England captain has now suggested that he is no longer as eager about going back home as he previously was, and would certainly think about extending his time in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those discussions with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be prepared to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so progresses and what we attain together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and different periods happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and recently became the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five divisions, securing the achievement in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a honor had escaped him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane reveals that he was not sure how he would respond after breaking his trophy drought, but now thinks it has made him eager for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.

"But it's given me more drive to do more and be better. I think I've proven that this year.

"I was interested in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Continued success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The chance of a Premier League return has noticeably decreased
